Get Greekified!

Class of 2022
Welcome to my art show! I took Elements of Ceramics last year, and fell in love with it. I decided that I wanted to challenge my ceramics skills by taking Studio Workshop this year. After going to Greece this past summer, I automatically knew what I wanted to do for my art show: make Greek-related pieces. The brilliant blues and pearly whites all around me inspired me to put my plan into action this semester. As you can see, I have made four plates and four bowls that both vary in size. I wanted each of my pieces to have their own, unique Greek feature to them! I incorporated different shades of blue in to each of my pieces to show that Greece is full of calming, beautiful blues. I also incorporated Greek-related symbols, such as the Greek keys, the Greek eye, the blue domed churches, and a Mediterranean-style house. The only challenge I had creating these pieces was glazing them. I had to be very detailed and precise, and it became tedious. Other than that, I am very proud of the way my art show turned out! My intention is to transport the viewer out of their cold, gloomy winter, and into a bright, beautiful summer day in Greece!
